Herfel wins Mid-Am

Gary Herfel shot a 2-over-par, final-round 73 Sunday to win the
Northern Kentucky Mid-Amateur Championship at Flagg Springs Golf
Course.
Herfel finished the two-day tournament at 5-over 147 to win the
title by one stroke over four golfers.
Herfel began the day in fourth place, two strokes behind leader
Mark Erlewine, who shot a 72 in Saturday's first round.
Erlewine, Tim Hartig, defending champion Jeff Floyd and Rob
Clarke all finished at 148.
David Haines won the First Flight handicap with a two-day total
of 134, beating runner-up Mike Koehler by one stroke.
In the Second Flight handicap, Tim J. Moore shot a 137 to beat
Dan Ziegler by two shots.
